Alison Gallup, P.T., DPT, MS

Assistant Director of Physical Therapy, Physical Therapist

Alison Gallup was born in San Antonio, Texas to a military family. She has lived in Texas, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina and is now happy to call Santa Monica home.

Alison first had an interest in physical therapy while dancing for the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet, where she occasionally developed dance-related injuries requiring professional attention. She decided to pursue a career in physical therapy and received her Master's of Science in Physical Therapy in 2007 from Texas Woman's University following her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Theatre and Dance at The University of Texas at Austin. In 2010, Alison received her post-professional Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Texas Woman's University in Houston, TX.

In May of 2007, Alison, along with four fellow students and Dr. Toni Roddey, PhD, PT, OCS, FAAOMPT, volunteered with the Health Volunteers Overseas program in DaNang, Vietnam. During her time in DaNang, she was able to assist Dr. Roddey in running clinical labs to teach medical doctors and physical therapists mobilizations and diagnostic techniques for differential diagnosis of cervical and shoulder impairments. Following graduation, Alison began her career at an orthopedic outpatient facility in Kingwood, TX, where she specialized in pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation as well as care for the geriatric and pediatric populations. Alison's clinic was one of the few clinics in the Houston area that utilized the Pilates Reformer during treatment. When she moved to California, she decided to advance her knowledge of Pilates by obtaining her diploma through the Body Arts and Science International Pilates program. Alison is an orthopaedic section member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Alison is thrilled to be a member of The Cypress Center family. She and her husband, Wes, have been enjoying the beautiful, sunny weather of California. When Alison is not working, she enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, dancing, volunteering, reading, and cooking.
