Meet Us
Larissa Sherr, DPT:
Physical Therapist
 Larissa was raised in sunny Southern California. After attending Taft High School, she graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychobiology in 1998. She became interested in physical therapy in the two years following college, during which time she worked both in outpatient pediatric and orthopedic physical therapy clinics. This experience led her to obtain her Doctor of Physical Therapy from USC in 2003 (yes she switched sides, sorry Bruins!). During graduate school, Larissa’s internships included inpatient neurological and general medicine rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine, and outpatient pediatrics.
Since completing graduate school, Larissa has worked in two outpatient physical therapy clinics, joining The Cypress Center in November 2004. Beyond her general interest in orthopedic physical therapy, she has incorporated several specializations into her practice including women’s health, geriatric medicine, and rehabilitation for sports-related injuries. Larissa has also taken several continuing education courses in manual therapy, differential diagnosis, and exercise rehabilitation to expand her clinical scope. She is currently taking a year-long course in manual therapy and orthopedic reasoning skills to prepare for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification in March 2007.
When Larissa is not working at the Cypress Center or studying for her continuing education courses, she can be found tending to her newborn son Nathan, enjoying the outdoors with her husband, hiking, inline skating, or just strolling down the beach path. When the weather isn’t so great she is just as happy to curl up with a great book or movie with her two cats at her side. Ultimately, she is happiest when she is spending time with her friends and family going out on the town, seeing the latest movies, or exploring the newest eateries. |
