Natasha Hugger

Pilates Instructor

Natasha Hugger is the newest addition to the Pilates Studio at the Cypress Center. She is trained through Body Arts and Sciences International with additional dance specialization under the instruction of Karen Clippinger. She was drawn by the expertise of the instructors and physical therapists at the Cypress Center. She also noticed the warm atmosphere of all the employees and clientele. Luckily, Natasha was equally embraced into this new environment where she is now able to share her knowledge of the wonderful benefits of Pilates that is enhanced with over a decade of dance training.

Natasha received her first experience of Pilates because of her involvement in the dance world. She began her dance training at the age of eleven. During high school, she trained intensely at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy and continued her passion throughout college. She spent a year at Fordham University in New York City dancing at the Ailey School, completing her college career with a Bachelor’s degree in Dance and a minor in Spanish at Loyola Marymount University. Due to several injuries incurred through dance – including back spasms, a pulled hamstring, and tendonitis of the hip and achilles – Natasha underwent several forms of physical therapy; the most beneficial being Pilates. After experiencing firsthand the ways in which Pilates saved her dance career, she sought after her certification in order to help herself and, more importantly, to help others. Natasha looks forward to learning more about the infinite possibilities of Pilates: its method of enhancing strength and flexibility, core stabilization and balance, and the awareness of mind-body connectivity.

In addition to teaching Pilates, Natasha continues to teach dance and choreograph in Los Angeles. Thanks to the benefits of Pilates and the unprecedented support of the Cypress Center, she is still dancing professionally as well. She just finished performing in Las Vegas for a year with Bette Midler in “The Showgirl Must Go On”. On her free time, Natasha enjoys traveling – especially to visit her family in Colombia – eating great food, reading, practicing Yoga, Salsa dancing, and spending time with loving friends and family.
