Telehealth Patient Information Overview

Dear Telehealth Patient,

We have exciting news that will directly impact the way we can treat you and offer you care! We now have an online telehealth platform. This telehealth tool will allow you to access your provider and receive care in the event you aren’t able to access the clinic!

We can use this telehealth tool in multiple ways to serve you. We can use it as a screen tool, for follow up appointments, wellness check-ins, exercise progression, and even for initial evaluation and treatments! We believe this will bring significant benefit to you as an option to enhance your experience at The Cypress Center. You will still receive the same impeccable quality of care but it will be from the comfort and convenience or your own home or office.

All that is needed on your part is to go to our telehealth page on our website http://www.thecypresscenter.com/telehealth and fill-out the Telehealth Request Form. You may prefer to email us directly to request this service, that is fine too. Please email: reception@thecypresscenter.com and note your preferred date and time and we will get back to you within one business day. We will also be emailing you a Telehealth Consent Form or you can complete the form easily on our website (http://www.thecypresscenter.com/telehealthconsentform) prior to your session. Please also take time to review ways and tips to optimize your telehealth physical therapy experience accessible here: http://www.thecypresscenter.com/optimizing-your-telehealth-experience

After your telehealth appointment is confirmed, we will be sending you an invitation from us via our patient platform doxy.me. Simply click on invitation link and check-in. That’s all you need to do! You will wait in the virtual waiting room until your provider begins the session at the confirmed time. There are no extra fees to use this platform and the apps are free. You can use it on a Mac, PC, and every type of tablet and smartphone. We want to assure you it is fully HIPPA-compliant, like all electronic medical records in hospitals, which means your health information, personal information and data is completely secure.

Billing for our telehealth services are as follows:

  1. Medicare Patients

    • Medicare now covers Telehealth physical therapy

    • If you cannot use virtual technology, Medicare also covers e-visits. We can simply call you via phone and email you to discuss and help manage your current treatment plan. There is no out-of-pocket cost for this.

  2. Commercial Insurance Patients

    • Due to the current national emergency, many insurance carriers are adopting new policies integrating telehealth physical therapy as a covered service. We will be working with your individual carrier to verify reimbursement on a case by case basis. However, please expect to pay our cash rate for telehealth services at this time.

      • $75 for 30 minute treatment sessions

      • $95 for 45 minute initial evaluation and treatment session

  3. Private Pay Patients

    • $75 for 30 minutes

    • $95 for 45 minute initial evaluation and treatment session

We are excited to expand our reach as practitioners and to deliver care virtually, so we can continue caring for our patients in need of our services. Welcome to the next level of patient experience. We look forward to partnering with you in your healing and recovery.

OPTIMIZING YOUR TELEHEALTH EXPERIENCE

TELEHEALTH MAY BE SOMETHING BRAND NEW FOR YOU AND MAYBE YOU’RE WONDERING WHAT TO EXPECT AS A PATIENT. HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS TO HAVE THE BEST EXPERIENCE WHILE CONNECTING WITH YOUR PROVIDER:

  1. Accessing the Software:

    1. Your provider will be send you the information to connect with the system they will be using for telehealth. Please follow the instructions for downloading the necessary software or logging into the necessary site prior to your initial visit.

  2. Hardware Needs:

    1. You will need a computer, tablet, smartphone, or mobile device to access the software. Your provider will let you know what is best to connect with the software.

    2. Your device must have a microphone (either internal or external) so that you can communicate with your provider.

    3. Your device must also have a camera (either internal or external) so that you can be seen by your provider during the visit.

  3. Internet Connection/WiFi:

    1. Having a strong and solid internet connection is vital for having a positive telehealth experience. Some software performs at a slow connection but most do not. Ideally, your internet speed should be at least 15Mbps download and 5Mbps upload.

    2. If your speed is consistently slow, you may want to contact your internet provider and ask about getting faster service.

    3. If your internet is not performing as it should, you may want to try a wired connection. Using a cable connected directly to your router or modem can often be much faster.

    4. Using your mobile device can also be a solution, however data plans and costs may limit usage.

HERE ARE IMPORTANT TIPS TO MAXIMIZE YOUR DIGITAL HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE:

  1. Make yourself comfortable. Choose a location in which you can be most comfortable both physically and emotionally. You will likely be asked by your provider to move during your visit so make sure you have room to move. You want to be able to share information freely with your provider so other people in the room may not provide enough privacy. The more comfortable you are in your surroundings the better outcome of the visit will be.

  2. Wear comfortable clothing that also allows for movement to be seen over video. For example, snug fitting clothes or shorts and a t-shirt allows for your provider to assess how parts of the body move to determine the best intervention.

  3. Be safe. Please do not try to have a telehealth visit while driving or performing other activities that may cause harm.

  4. Location. Choose a location that is quiet and private without distractions. This is a healthcare appointment and distractions can make the appointment challenging for everyone. Removing distractions will allow you to focus fully on your learning and your healing.

  5. Choose a consistent location. Using the same space for every visit allows for your provider to know what equipment and furniture is available for treatment.

In Health and Gratitude,

The Cypress Center
